The client wanted us to change some of the existing functionality and enhance some other functionality in leads and accounts module as specified below.

vTiger CRM is a complete dynamic customer relationship management, which provides features like marketing campaign creation and management, sales force automation, to customer support control, Marketing automation, Security management, Inventory management, Activity management etc.We were expected to do some changes in its available features. Our endeavors included:
We have modified the existing functionality of converting lead in the vTiger and changed it to multistep. In this multistep process, when a sales person sells a domain to a customer or lead, he/she needs to select a domain for the customer. By hitting the “Select Website” option a sales person can get popups to select a domain/ sub-domain as per the member type (Complete domain / Lite Domain respectively).
The Lite domain is generated automatically and the domain name is created automatically as per the customer’s account number. Complete domain on the other hand can be selected from domain list, or can be entered manually. Once selected the data has been stored to the website field of the customer. Obvious these selections can be modified by the same group of users until the lead is not converted to Account. After finalizing the website name, “Convert Domain” simply triggers the unique domain checking procedure. If the domain is free it gets booked for the customer.
To generate the reports for leads and accounts, we have used existing vTiger report functionality and generated the report for the client.
We have developed a new module for marketing leads for storing the data for Marketing leads with the following functionality.
We have developed absolutely new module for marketing leads. This works in the same way, but the data set and the fields are completely different. Data need to be imported from the existing database, and a direct query page/ function to import data from the existing from.
These implementations have shunned all the issues that the client was having with his vTiger CRM application. Now it’s working fine and can perform the following tasks with ease:
