Developing a Chat Website & Respective Apps for iOS & Android

Client Requirement:

Client approached us to develop a chat website and iOS, Android apps allowing communication among users in different chat modes.

Our Endeavor:

An online chat website, Chatroulette pairs people from around the world for webcam-based conversations. Visitors to the website begin an online chat (text, audio, video) with another visitor who is chosen at random. At any point, either user may leave the current chat by initiating another random connection with any other visitor.

Our designers created the home & inside page for the video chat based site. We also developed iPhone and android apps for normal user functionality. Besides this, we also designed icons and splash screen for mobile apps for iOS and Android platforms. In the chatter roullete concept site, there are 2 type of user which are normal user and ambassador. Ambassador can submit their application through front end via a form. Adobe Flash is used to display video and access the user’s web-cam.

The concept involves Ambassadors that act as moderators and conversation facilitators. Initially, only paid users are allowed to roulette with the Ambassadors. Over time, once a user accumulates enough good rating points from the Ambassadors, user will gain special status to be able to participate in the user-to-user network.

A normal user can have 3 type of membership and can purchase token to talk to ambassador. Besides this, the normal user can also have video/text chat with other normal users. An admin panel controls the front end. Video streams are transmitted in a peer-to-peer manner, without passing through the site’s server.
